WHERE THE LEADERS ARE

  • PC Leader John Tory: Oakville, Kitchener and London, where he overnights.

  • New Democrat Howard Hampton: Richmond Hill, Hamner, Thunder Bay.

  • Liberal Leader Dalton McGuinty: Campaigns in Ottawa, Lindsay and Markham.

    ALWAYS TIME FOR LAWN SIGNS

Strategic sign placement in his west-end London riding might underline why Chris Bentley is the cabinet smartie in charge of advanced education. On a long road, with no election signs visible, Bentley had a cluster of six signs sprouting from a bushy roadside area. A likely reason? There’s a Tim Horton’s drive-through across the street, where motorists waiting to go stare straight ahead at bush — and the signs.

    AUTISM ACTIVISTS SPEAK UP

The Ontario Autism Coalition — not to be confused with a separate group, Autism Ontario — and its vocal membership aren’t quieting down for the election. The McGuinty Liberals failed to extend funding to cover therapy for autistic children, and parents in the group plan to remind voters of that starting Saturday, with a rally outside the campaign office of Liberal Caroline Di Cocco. Susan Fentie, the group’s co-founder and a mother to two autistic boys, says the offices of other Liberal MPPs from the last legislature will be picketed over the next two months.
